If you miss the days of wild, unhinged exploitation cinema that you'd find on a dusty VHS rental shelf, then Psycho Sex Dolls is exactly the shot of adrenaline you need. It's a bold, trashy-in-the-best-way tribute to 70s and 80s grit, mixed with a very modern (and very messy) take on the Al revolution. Seeing Simon Weir play the desperate, downward-spiraling Damien Self is worth the price of admission alone-he brings a "lovable dirtbag" energy that anchors the whole chaotic ride. The movie starts as a biting satire of the adult industry but takes a sharp, bloody turn into full-blown horror that caught me completely off guard. It's vibrant, loud, and unapologetically "B-movie" in its soul, using quick cuts and a neon-soaked aesthetic to keep the momentum at a fever pitch. As a backer of the original Kickstarter, seeing the final product deliver on its promise of T&A, dark humor, and practical gore is a massive win. It sets a high bar for the sequel, The Dolls, and proves that indie horror is at its best when it refuses to play it safe.
