Let Them Come

Indie Black Magic is an incredibly inspiring production company and artistic voice. I love the style of this film and the choices Tommy Jackson and Ivana Cipurko made in creating a dark, electric, entertaining thriller film that impressed me every step of the way. It's their best film so far in my eyes, and I know they are gonna make many more that will blow us all away!

So much of this movie punches way above its weight class. For what is probably a smaller budgeted indie film, the sound design wowed me. It was intentional, and really added to the mood of the scene and the vibe of the movie. Same with the cinematography; there were some really outstanding shots that use environment and light with great artistic vision. The story was really compelling too. Not a dull moment in the movie, and character beats in between the action scenes did a great job with character building without causing any pacing issues. What I appreciated most, though, was that none of the characters felt like they were pulled from a template. Everyone has edges and contradictions which really make a great movie. Isabel really nailed her performance in the lead role. I will absolutely be looking out for her next projects.
