Gabriel Salazar
Biography
Gabriel Salazar is a Brazilian actor, director, writer, producer and composer born in Dourados, Mato Grosso do Sul.
A graduate in Performing Arts (UFSC), Gabriel began his acting career in 2013. On television, he held a recurring role in the HBO/O2 Filmes series "Pico da Neblina" ("Joint Venture" - 2019-2022), directed by Academy Award-nominee Fernando Meirelles and Quico Meirelles. In film, he earned a Best Actor nomination at the 2017 Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival (LABRFF) for his performance in the feature film "180 Graus" ("180 Degrees"). The movie, directed by Phil Rocha, was originally developed as a web series (2016-2018) featuring Gabriel in the lead cast.
As a filmmaker, Gabriel transitioned into directing with the short documentary "Sonata Julieta" (2022). He subsequently wrote and directed a series of experimental documentaries, including "Devaneio" (2023), "Duração-Diferença" (2023), "PULSO" (2024), and his latest project, "Uprising Smoke" (2026)."
He is currently working on the post-production of the feature-length documentary "Assim Disse Zoroastro" and the experimental short film "A Palavra".
