Eleven-year-old Katy Carr is a lively daredevil older sister in a big family. Her dad now lives with Izzie, but Katy cannot forget her mum, who died some years previously. Katy keeps getting in trouble everywhere, especially with her stepmum Izzie! After Katy suffers a serious injury, will her life ever be the same again?

Hospital-bound Katy is struggling, but her new friend Dexter gives her a partner in crime. As she builds up her strength, she wonders if she will ever be ready for the world outside.

With the added pressure of starting a new school, Katy must adjust to her life in a wheelchair, and Izzie is her main carer at home. Will they ever learn to get along?
