While facing declining sales at a book convention, bestselling mystery author Allie Chandler investigates the suspicious death of a close friend, only to clash with new police detective Jack Kerrigan and ambitious young podcaster Andi Walker.

While on her first day of work, Andi learns that Allie is hosting a wedding. But before the engaged couple can tie the knot, someone drops dead. Suspecting foul play, Andie, Allie, and Jack set out to uncover the truth.

A copycat killer stalks Founders Cove, mimicking murders from Allie's books. As fear grips the town, Allie, Andi, and Jack race to catch the killer before he or she strikes again.

Allie and Andi retreat to remote cabins in the woods to write in peace, but distractions multiply when Allie digs into the mystery of Andi's mother. As sparks start to fly between Allie and Jack, Andi witnesses a murder that no one believes happened.
