After the move, Anne feels more and more detached from Lily. Anne enjoys the bustling city of Amsterdam and realizes they can only be happy apart.

Anne gets involved with tough Janna. It's exciting at first, but things quickly turn superficial. After splitting up, Anne ponders her life choices.

Anne falls in love with quirky Sofie, but it's not mutual. They date, but when Anne gets dumped, she realizes her world with Sofie was a utopia.

Anne has an affair with her boss Esther. It's mainly physical, until Esther has Anne over for Christmas and admits to having real feelings for her.

Anne falls for clever Sara and things quickly get serious. Sara is not yet comfortable with her sexuality and the relationship dies, despite the love.

Lily drops by to say she is doing well. Anne is glad, but also annoyed, especially after her parents visit. During Lily's next visit, Anne lets loose.
